Chesterton Academy is pleased to welcome six new teachers to the faculty for the 2017-2018 academic year. The new additions are experts in their fields and eager to join in Chesterton's mission of helping parents raise men and women fully alive.
Ms. Mariah Ayers will coordinate CAO's Junior Inklings program, an after-school Great Books program for 6th-8th graders. Ms. Ayers is an Omaha native and graduated from the University of Dallas with a degree in English.
Mr. Tom Andrews comes to CAO from Lawrence, Kansas, where he has been pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Kansas. An accomplished pianist and organist, Mr. Andrews will lead the music program at CAO and will be music director at St. Barnabas Parish.
Mr. Conor Bopp is an Omaha native who joins the faculty with classroom experience from Archway Classical Academy, outside of Phoenix. He is a graduate of Thomas Aquinas College and spent several years in formation at Kenrick-Glennon School of Theology. Mr. Bopp will teach Philosophy and Math to CAO students.
Ms. Josie Clarey has several years of teaching experience, as well as a background as Liturgy Coordinator at Omaha's St. James parish. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Theology from the highly-acclaimed Augustine Institute, and will teach Classics and Spiritual Formation at Chesterton.
Mr. Luke DeWeese joins Chesterton as a Latin teacher after nearly 20 years of study in Classical languages. His background includes three summers of intensive study in Rome under Reginald Foster, chief Latinist to four Popes. Mr. DeWeese is currently completing his doctoral dissertation at The Catholic University of America.
Mr. Kyle Rodenhausen, a Maryland native, joins the CAO faculty while completing his Master's in Medical Physics at Creighton University. A lifelong lover of science, Mr. Rodenhausen will teach Chemistry.
