THE PERSONAL ORDINARIATE OF THE CHAIR OF ST. PETER
Chesterton Academy of Omaha is a truly unique place.
One thing that differentiates it from peer institutions in Omaha is its commitment to the Catholic Church and its affiliation with the Archdiocese of Omaha.
CAO is an independent Catholic school. This means that our school is not operated by any parish or by the Archdiocese of Omaha. We are, nevertheless, fully and authentically Catholic. Daily participation in the Holy Mass is the lifeblood of our school. We pray daily for the Pope and the Archbishop of Omaha, as is our filial duty.
Since its foundation, our school has had a close relationship with St. Barnabas Church. In fact, at present, our school is located in the basement of St. Barnabas! St. Barnabas, although located within the boundaries of the Archdiocese of Omaha, belongs to the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. Because the Ordinariate is a new development in the life of the Roman Catholic Church, we are pleased to provide below a bit of information to answer some frequently asked questions. These images come from the Ordinariate's website and their magazine, the Ordinariate Observer.
